The Story Thus Far...

Belamus

Over the past century, Belamus has become the focal trade post for the region. It is a costal city situated on the northwest coast of Gilacia. It is the only coastal area of Gilacia close enough to sea level to act as a functional port.
Of course with steady trade, comes steady crime. Belamus has a large voluntary city guard, but as strong as their numbers may be, they are unable to thwart crime in the city. The ruling government, a council of elected representatives enacted a curfew to assist the guard at keeping the peace. Bells toll throughout the city two hours after sunset. Some citizens and travelers are granted license to remain outdoors after curfew, but any person without said identification is arrested.      The continued growth of Belamus is becoming problematic, as the encompassing woodland does not currently allow for outward expansion. A recent vote by the Council has approved expansion by means of cutting back the forest from the city. This action has infuriated the Druid population of Belamus and resulted in a civil war.

The White Wolfe Inn

Count Dusan of Belamus - Count Dusan is an employee and representative of Lord Archon. He is the manager of the White Wolfe Inn, but delegates his management to Calomar, so that he may tend to his other duties. As a count of Belamus, Dusan sits on the council of the city. Lord Archon often summons him away from Belamus for the sake of overseeing treasure expeditions.

Calomar - Calomar is a fierce fighter who was commander of the guard of Belamus for several decades before retiring. These days he acts as manager and head of security for the White Wolfe Inn. Despite his old age, his strength is inhuman, and there is no man in Belamus who rivals his skill with the sword.

Lord Archon of Cala - Very little is known about your patron, Lord Archon of Cala. His investments around the known world have brought him great wealth. His significant investment has made Belamus the center of trade that it has become.

Council of Belamus

Count Goran of Belamus - Count Goran, a druid councilmember has fought for many years to keep the city from destroying the forest for the sake of expansion. His greatest adversary on the issue has been Count Dusan, but more recently Goran's supporters are starting suffer the effects of the overcrowding, and Goran is quickly losing favor. Recently, the council has voted for expansion, and Goran is starting a civil war in response.

Count Xanothoris of Belamus - Xanothoris recently gained power in the council of Belamus. He has found support amongst detractors of Goran, and has joined Count Dusan in support of deforestation for the sake of expansion of the city. Xanthoris of course has his own interests in mind. His recent investments in Belamus have been limited to what has not already been bought into by the rest of the aristocracy. In other words, while he and Dusan are politically friendly, there is great animosity between them when business is concerned.

Counts Balos & Telex of Belamus - These counts are the oldest and longest standing members of the council. Their long life in politics has jaded them, and their council votes are available to the highest bidder.

Old Belamus

Centuries ago, when city leaders saw the potential for trade by claiming the nearby coastal land, they moved the city north, and the old village was soon forgotten. Over the centuries, the forest grew up around the old village, but a few old building still remain deep in the forest.

Olde Hallows Inn

This long abandoned inn sits against the cliffs of a nearby mountain range. It is yet another holding of Lord Archon, and over the last few centuries, it has been subject to a select few visitors, and one longtime occupant. The inn's most precious and valuable feature is its direct portal to the World Serpent Inn.

Keeper - Little is known about the old ghost that haunts the Old Hallows Inn. He has obvious loyalties to Lord Archon of Cala, and is the protector of the portal from the Old Hallows Inn to the World Serpent Inn.

Mistress Penelope of Cala - Very little is known about Mistress Penelope. She is Lord Archon's chief advisor and oversees his investments. She is the cousin of Dusan, but even he knows little about her seemingly lengthy history.

Brygida

Situated south of Belamus, Brygida is a small village near the coastal cliffs. The town predominately survives on agriculture, but there are a few small inns and businesses in this one horse town, not to mention some interesting people.

Reza - Reza is an incredibly beautiful elf rogue who first appeared leading a group of bandits robbing the White Wolfe Inn, and was apprehended by Calomar. As it turns out, Reza is Calomar's niece and had been hired to test the security at the White Wolfe.

Braeden

Near the southeast coast of Gilacia, Braeden was for many years ruled by Lady Freya, before she was dethroned and violated by Milica, a leather smith. Milica used a powerful magic item to depose Freya and then used it to enslave the village to obey his laws.

Lord Milica - a tyrant who has ruled Braeden for the last five years.

Lady Freya of Braeden - Rightful ruler of Braeden, Freya was deposed and humiliated by Milica.

Magda

A city divided by the sea, Magda is located on the continents of Gilacia and Deltoras at their closest points. East Magda is a very small village consisting of a stable and a guard tower. Travelers soon find that the soul purpose of this tower is to house the guard who is responsible for collecting tolls to cross the massive bridge to Deltoras. West Magda is a booming mining city surrounded by mountains that are home to all varieties of precious metals and jewels. Overall, Magda is best known for its seemingly never-ending mithral mines.

Dolan - Captain of the Guard of Magda, Dolan can normally be found sleeping in his office at the Town Palace.

Cravan - A Captain of the Trade Guild of Deltoras, Craven has been stationed in Magda for about ten years. Aside from overseeing trade in Magda, Craven also ensures the peace of the city by instructing his own soldiers to pick up the slack of the Guard.

Coralys

Originally founded to host foreign ambassadors, royalty and nobility, Coralys has always been a city of celebration and pleasure. Now, along with its famous game rooms, gambling houses and brothels, Coralys also serves as the center of trade in Deltoras, thus it is the central hub for the Trade Guild of Deltoras. This remarkably large city is always abuzz with travelers, gamblers and adventurers, and is entirely managed by a small aristocracy that oversees the business, and government in Coralys.

Council of Coralys

Count Borothax of Coralys - A descendent of the founder of Coralys, Borothax has maintained his family's power in the city by continuing to invest his money in the city his ancestor created.

Mistress Laurenia of Coralys - Sister of Borothax, Laurenia shares equal power with her brother in Coralys. Along with her responsibilities to the city, Laurenia manages the many brothels of the city, and is headmistress of The Academy of the Erotic Arts.

Count Maliphazed of Coralys - Founder of the Trade Guild of Deltoras, Maliphazed is a member of the aristocracy in Coralys.

Count Dorian of Coralys - Trained in Belamus, under his father, Calomar, Dorian was recruited to serve as Captain of the Guard in Coralys at a very young age. As Captain of the Guard, Dorian enjoys the benefits of being a member of the aristocratic council of the city.

Count Archon of Coralys - Lord Archon began investing in Coralys so long ago that most believe that he is a native of the city. In truth, Coralys is Archon's home away from home, and he has spent a great deal of his life living in the city, which is one of the reasons that Count Borothax's great-grandfather asked Archon to join the council and take up the title of Count so many years ago. The longest living coucil member, Archon prepares to celebrate his 100th year as Count Archon of Coralys.
